Petrol Protests are a situation where the cost of fuel for vehicles has become so high that people have taken to staging protests and demonstrations to demand cheaper prices. These protests anger everyone, especially Motorists, and cause a drop in Car Usage and the GDP.

Although high Oil Prices and levels of Poverty are both factors in making petrol too costly for people, the main cause of petrol protests is a very punitive Petrol Tax. Dropping or ending the tax is a sure way to please the protestors. More draconian presidents can discourage protests by enacting Curfews and permitting Detention Without Trials.
